Background:
Since 2007 Sunderland & South Tyneside CAMRA have hosted an annual beer & cider festival in the branch area

In August 2007 & 2008 this was held under the name "South Shields Beer Festival" held in the Masonic Hall, Ingham St, South Shields.

From 2009 to 2016 the festival moved to October & under the name "Sunderland Octoberfest" held in the Bonded Warehouse, Low St, Sunderland.

From 2017 to 2019 a further move took place to The Point, @ the junction of Holmeside & Park Lane, in Sunderland city centre. The festival being rebranded as "Sunderland Beer & Cider Festival".

No festival took place in 2020 & 2021 due to COVID19 lockdowns!
The festival returned in November 2022 at the Peacock, in High Street West. Branded as "Sunderland Beer & Cider Winter Festival".
2023 sees a move to Beggars Bridge, East Boldon with the festival branded "SST Beer & Cider Festival".
